Dental care in Pattaya

Here is some up to date information on dental care and costs in Pattaya, supplied by Pattaya Expats Member Gary:

Things change quickly in Pattaya, nothing stays the same for very long.

The dentist that I used on South Road across from Friendship has sold his practice and moved on. His replacement does not have xray equipment nor too much experience.

Lots of independent dentists around but some are OK and some are REALLY bad.

I now use a great female dentist at Pattaya Bangkok Hospital. Her name is Dr, Apinya Chumvorathayee.

Bangkok Pattaya Hospital has raised its prices dramatically now that it's adding the new wing. My yearly Platinum Discount Card is not as powerful as last year and is three times more expensive. I am gun shy now about walking in without continually asking prices as I go along.

Dentistry does not seem to have taken the same large jump. I just had my six month cleaning yesterday and I questioned Khun Apinya before we began. I was paying approx 800 Baht for a complete cleaning (cheap by SF standards) and this visit it went up by 100 Baht..........still cheap! She is very professional and I go for anything major and am never disappointed. I think she is great and I take my friend Jum there as well.

PI Hospital on Soi 5 is also a great medical center. The staff is friendly and professional and the facilities are grand. Food comes from the PI Kitchen Restaurant and is fabulous. Watch large screen TV in your room accompanied by Blue Margaritas in the evening.  A deck overlooks the blue sea and the little Thai nurses are sweet, laughing and accommodating.

They stitched up my face a few years ago and I have no scar whatsoever.

As you can tell, I am a fan of medical services in Thailand and feel lucky to live here.
