Be prepared for life's emergencies.
This is one of our urgent ongoing projects at the
Pattaya Expats Club and we plan on providing expats with a
comprehensive booklet to prepare for these emergencies. Just
take a little time to set things up before you have any problems
(for instance, give the hospital your details while you are fit
and well) and then relax and enjoy your stay in Pattaya.
And while you are still setting this up - here's
some advice from England for
staying out of trouble.
Our project will cover how to live safely and legally in Thailand:
Health and medical insurance
What to carry with you
Wills
Contact information in an emergency etc
Here's an example of what can go wrong:
You become seriously ill and are transported by
the emergency services to the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.
Unfortunately, you are not in any condition to supply health
insurance information or to authorize a charge against your credit
card.
Until a friend or family member can sort out the
payment problem, the hospital will perform only emergency treatment
to get you stable. If you need an operation for instance, payment
has to be confirmed first.
